1 A: 陈先生,你个家庭几大啊? Mr. Chan, how big is your family?
B: 我个家庭好大; 我有五个仔, 四个女. My family is big. I have five sons and four daughters.
A: 你(pl)快乐吗? Are you happy?
B: 我(pl)好快乐. Yes, we are very happy.
2 A: 你有几多个兄弟啊? How many brothers do you have?
B: 我有三个兄弟; 一个大佬, 两个细佬. I have three brothers: one elder brother and two younger brothers.
3 A: 你有几多个姊妹啊? How many sisters do you have?
B: 我有八个姊妹; 三个大姊, 五个妹. I have eight sisters: three elder sisters and five younger sisters.
4 A: 该间班房有几多个学生啊? How many students are in this classroom?
B: 该间班房有九个学生; 三个系军官, 六个系士兵. There are nine students in this classroom. Three are officers, and six are soldiers.
5 A: 该间学校个大礼堂有几多人啊? How many people are there in this school auditorium?
B: 该间学校个大礼堂有两个上尉, 十二个中士, 二十二个上等兵. 总共有三十六个人. There are two captains, twelve sergeants, and twenty two private first class: a total of thirty-six people.
6 A: 该处有几多人晓讲台山话, 几多人唔晓讲台山话啊? How many people speaks Taishanese here? How many cannot speak Taishanese?
B: 该处有四十二个人晓讲台山话, 有五十八个人唔晓讲台山话. Forty-two people can speak Taishanese here, and fifty eight do not speak Taishanese.
7 A: 该两对鞋几多钱啊? How much are these two pairs of shoes?
B: 该对鞋廿二文.  咛对鞋卅二文. 总共五十四文. This pair of shoes is twenty-two dollars. That pair of shoes is thirty-two dollars. The total is fifty-four dollars.
8 A: 你买几多磅牛肉啊? How many pounds of beef will you buy?
B: 我买十磅牛肉. I'm buying ten pounds of beef.
9 A: 该个停车场有几多架车啊? How many cars are there in this parking lot?
B: 该个停车场大约有一百架车. There are about 100 cars in this parking lot.
10 A: 对不住,我要走啰! Please excuse me. I have to leave now!
B: 得闲来坐哟! Visit us when you have time!
A: 好啊! Sure!

Reading Material
陈先生个家庭好大. 佢有夫人,有五个仔, 有四个女. 陈先生亦有兄弟, 一个大佬, 两个细佬. 佢亦有姊妹, 三个大姊, 五个妹. 该个家庭总共有十七个人. Mr. Chan's family is very big. He has a wife, five sons, and four daughters. Mr. Chan also has brothers: one elder brother and two younger brothers. He has sisters too: three elder sisters and five younger sisters. This family has a total of seventeen people.
陈先生该时系陆军语言学校教书. 佢有一百个学生. 有四十二个晓讲台山话. 有五十八个唔晓讲台山话. 陈先生到该间学校教书教啊六年. Mr. Chan is teaching at the Army Language School now.  He has one hundred students. Forty two of them can speak Taishanese. Fifty-eight do not speak Taishanese. Mr. Chan has been teaching at this school for six years.
今日下午,陈先生去街买两对鞋, 买十磅牛肉. 总共六十三文. Mr. Chan went shopping this afternoon. He bought two pairs of shoes and ten pounds of beef, for a total of 63 dollars.
